Poem: Chasing Dreams
Been chasing dreams
Down mountain seams
Haven’t found my gold
I’ve wasted reams
of paper themes
unsure what I’ve told
Love is blind
Can be so unkind
To hearts that hope and dare
The sleepless mind
Does roll and grind
A recurrent nightmare
Lost in song
Please come along
There’s a way out of the maze
We all belong
To a common throng
Of songsters battling haze
Let’s set alight
The dreary plight
of hearts where shadows cling
We shall fight
For our birthright
To love and long and sing
Rainbows sigh
On a sunlit sky
Of those who care to dream
Words will cry
Spread wings and fly
To the pot of gold and gleam
