Poem: Daddy's Little Girl
Daddy’s Little Girl
Written on 2/27/2006 for my Daughter Kaylie

Oh how thankful am I
Overwhelmed and fulfilled beyond what the tear could express,
So so thankful for the love given
From HER,
Through her,
In my arms cheek to cheek,
Breath to breath,
A moment held dear as we dance,
Capturing the sands of time pouring into our hearts grain by grain,
A moment frozen as with her I feel yesterday, today and tomorrow,
A picture of love still,
Unbreakable,
Unfractured,
Impenetrable.
Still ever thankful am I,
Knowing my butterfly will someday outgrow the cocoon,
I with everything hope she will carry with her but a few grains,
A reminder in her heart to move forward and onward,
Referencing them in quiet and remembering her origin,
A place where she is always loved,
Where gravity has no name and the grain is but a lens,
A tear coated crystalline window of comfort,
A home and resting place of security for her,
Always.
