Poetry - Poem about the 'Hubscore syndrome'

Updated on August 30, 2014

About my poem...

I just love to write, especially poems and especially when something inspires me to do so...Hubpages is an enjoyable hobby, a place for sharing and commenting on other peoples hubs, a place where the criticism is kind...but a place where the hubscores fluctuate randomly without rhyme or reason. That is what inspired this little ditty...enjoy!

My 1st 100 score

My 1st 100 Hubscore

My 2nd 100 Hubscore

Hubscore Syndrome

I work hard improving my hubscore

I add songs and poetry

I go to bed at with 95

But wake up to 93!

One time my score Hit 96

I was thrilled to reach that score

The following day when I woke up

My score was 94!

Last night my score was high again

So I published hubs all new

Woke up again this morning

My score was 92!

I still don’t understand

Why 96 becomes 94

Nor can I figure out

My hubkarma score!

Will I ever reach 100

Right now its hard to see

'cause I woke up this morning

My hubscore & karma are both on 93.

Hope you enjoyed my little poem.

Thank you for reading

On a final note...

We are need to have fun now and then. We can be playful with words especially through poetry and prose. We can use poetry to express our feeelings and describe events. Poetry is very therapeutic whether you are reading it or writing it and the beauty of it is that it it doesn't have to be sad and tearful - you can write poetry to celebrate or share special events in your life. I almost always buy blank cards and write my own verse - I find it means I can make the gift of a card more personal.

Write poetry and have fun!

hubscore and hubkarma are still a mystery to me - even when I am not writing or being particularly active on hubpages they fluctuate - my hubkarma has been stuck on 91 for quite a while now.

Thanks for reading and commenting Genna East.

Lol! This is delightful and echoes my thoughts exactly. Well done! I haven't a clue of how hub scores work, but refuse to be manipulated by them anymore. Well, I least I hope I'm not. :)

epigramman - I was going through my fan mail last night and thought I had responded to yours a long time ago and was shocked to find I hadn't - I love your work it almost always brings a smile to my otherwise dull day. Thank you for your friendship.

...well personally I am not into hub scores at all - I think my highest was '94' - but what I do accept with the greatest respect and esteem is receiving comments from my friends, colleagues and peers here at the HUB - and hopefully in some small way my feedback to them is as equally gratifying!

That said -I really enjoyed the wit and the truth contained here in your poem - and believe me when I tell you that your fan mail really made my night - so thank you very much for that because it's people like you who inspire me to keep writing!!!!

LOL I loved this leni - I know how you feel.. its so weird when the score goes up and down arbitrarily - drives one crazy eh! In fact, if you don't mind, I have written one about hub scores which I will add here if it's okay with you?

The inexplicable Hub score - I say no more

It doesn't really matter what it is

so just write for own sheer bliss

and salute and blow an air kiss

when you reach that elusive 100 score!

    Cheers Leni!

Only a true Hubber knows their score when they go to sleep and also when they wake! I hear you! Can I relate - thank you! As attemptedhumour details - we are all striving for that elusive 100!

Yes there's no rhyme or reason for it, but one day you may be wondering how you got to that elusive 100. I read your hubs because i like them even though you're only a 91, 92, 93, or 94 so who cares?

I agree MartieCoetser but don't let it stress you out. Ignoring it won't make it go away but reviewing it will, eventually. I am still try to review the hub I was talking about which is to do with the History Genre (in creative writing). One day I will beat the system. Hope that one day is soon because I still have the Science Genre to do.

    Thanks for stopping by.

It is quite a nuisance! Nothing but a manipulating tool. Somebody said we should ignore it, but what then is the sense of it? I wish this enigma could be explained by management. Do they really underestimate our intelligence or disgust in no-goodniks? I don’t have words that can describe my fed-upness with this issue.
