Rising Upward

Slowly announcing the break of dawn,

Mr. Sunshine stretches his wide arms,

Offering a morning hug he says “Hello!”,

Soon, he shares today is a new adventure.

Eagerly with immense joy earthly angels,

Fly here and there upon wings of feathers,

Their songs paint the skies with their delight,

A brisk cool breeze flutters upon landscape.

“Yawn-stretch-yawn” greets the arrived day,

Coffee brews percolating its very own tune,

Its song of gladness offers soon another smile,

Mystery points to expectations of new discovery.

Silent whispers dance alongside today’s wonder,

Bold, brave, courageous the explorer of today,

Looks at the horizon knowing the new destination,

Sitting with cup of coffee glee is that eternal moment.

What a great way to start my day. Thank you as at 6:40 the sun has not yet shared the light.

This poem made me smile. The simplicity of waking up to a new day is divine and exciting, if we can attune to it. Thanks for sharing, Tim.

Beautiful morning description with these poetic lines.

I used to enjoy these mornings with great delight. But, now, at my present locality, it is all around high apartments and I miss the morning bliss. Our civilization is depriving us all these natural enjoyments.

There's nothing like the first cup of coffee to start the day perfectly. Your poetry is charming and fun to read...

I used to feel this way. Waking up in a dreamy state, surrounded by nature's sights and sounds, with the moment sealed in a very human way-by having a beautiful cup of coffee:) Simply divine!

What a happy and whimsical poem! Reading it put a smile to my face, even if the sun is not shining over me or my morning coffee this morning. :) Thank's for sharing, Mitch!

Nicely worded...I could almost smell the brew..as it is the little things in life that we should relish.....never really saw this side of you...are you " branching "out ? " tasting " the waters ?
