It's when you feel like no one understands you,

And you're all alone, unloved and who cares?

It's when you feel like going to sleep,

And hope that you don’t wake up anymore.

It's when you feel hopeless,

And no one bother to ask, so what?

It's when you feel harsh and rough,

And there’s no way out.

It's when you have to carry the load,

All by yourself and no one dares to help.

It's when the emptiness is palpable,

And no one or nothing can fill it.

It's when no one seems to listen,

To your heart’s desire and you suffer.

It's when it feels like you have no voice,

And speechless, so it seems.

The anguish, you sigh and wonder why?

Soul is ripped, tormented and screaming.

You feel daunted, haunted and unwanted.

A silent wish, You say: let go, let be!

Darkness, it's here...

Trying to break your protective façade,

Robbing your soul, devouring your spirit low

You seek no freedom to live anymore.

Soul searching, withering in the dark.

You wish your demise would come into your slumber.

But, if you rest your case, will you finally be at peace,

Or be burnt in hell and eventually forgotten?

When darkness reigns - "lift up your hands to God and He'll make you feel alright."

Interesting and up because this was an intriguing piece and from it, I can see straight into the author's mind at the time it was written.

Sad, but echoed many times over in hearts all around the world.

      Good Job!

Richawriter: Thank you for your visit and for leaving a comment. That old feeling was indeed sad and as I said on my "nota bene", that old feeling has long been buried but the diary remains. I do not wish to welcome its ghost though. (: Thanks again.

Been there, done that, wrote the book. Now I see only sunlight and I will not return to the darkness. Excellent job of capturing it all.

Sir Billy: Thank you. Someday, I will also write my own book. That is the goal and hope to share my life journey and the lessons that comes along with it. For now, let's try to enjoy what we've got specially the sunlight!

Curiad: I think so too and I guess, we're lucky to have experience that for it taught us to be stronger, to appreciate the beauty of life and to learn to forgive those who have hurt us, including ourselves. For that and for all, I am grateful - no more angst.

Thank you for visiting. Let the sun shine!

Hello Phelcky! Thank you for your kind words. I think, we all have been there once in our life but we all should look as well on the brighter side. There is light at the end of the tunnel. (: I wish you well and thank you for your visit. See you around HP.

Thank you Laurinzo Scott, I write what I know and when I do, they usually come straight from the heart whatever the season is...I'm grateful though that this darkness did not really succeed. The torch of the olympic is now in my heart. Happiness always and thank you for dropping by.

How heartbreakingly beautiful and sad at the same time. I want to cry, but then smile - because I know you are in a good place. And I absolutely love the song at the end. Many many thanks; we can all learn from this because I believe we have all been there at one time or another.

Craiglyn dear, I am indeed in good place now. Been there, done that...that old cliche'. Now, I came to win, to prosper and to conquer. Just like one of my favorite songs: "I will survive" by Gloria Gaynor. I'm sure you're familiar with that. (:

      We will survive! Happiness always!

CrisSp You have revealed so very much here. I am sorry you had to suffer at all.

Each of us has traveled this road for one reason or another, some still lingering there.

I am glad you found your spiritual assistance to lift you up once again. It is unfair when good people are made to suffer.

      Excellent piece--bravo!

RobinGrosswirth23, thank you for paying me a visit. As mentioned, this was dug from an old diary, very old indeed. There is light at the end of the tunnel is an old cliche' but oh so very true. Things could be overwhelming at times. I have since reclaimed myself, the cloud has moved on and the sun is shining again.

I'm glad that I can now freely express myself, no more hiding in the dark. (:

Glad to have the support of many wonderful people like you. Again, thank you for your readership and feedback. It means a lot.

You captured the darkness well in this. A sad state many go through at least once in their lives, and some who never come out of it very well and do actually end it all. Very sad and relateable to many I'm sure.

      Hi CrisSp,

Arrived here from the link on your latest poem. This one struck me with a similitude that has taught me that many women feel the same way as this at sometime in their life. Surely bad memories should be cremated, and not just buried. All power to the the person in the authoress' narrative.

      With Sincere Regards,

      R.Q.

Romeos Quill: Thank you for your presence here. I guess, it's a part of our progress (women) and I'm glad I've passed that stage....bad memories cremated and I'm stronger than ever. Again, thank you. I appreciate your kind kind words.

      CrisSp,

Very powerful! I wish I could say I have buried all of those lonely feelings, but I still have some pretty tough days. I remind myself, however, that I have fewer of those days than I once did, so I see that as progress. The narrative you provide with this poem is very uplifting and encouraging. Thank You!

Take care and here's sending you some love from the sky.
