Poems and Poetry: My mind Betrayed Me

Updated on April 2, 2014

My Mind Betrayed Me

As if they were protective cover

I wrapped the memories of my

Early days around me to keep

Out the feelings and temptations

Knocking at the door of my heart

But my mind betrayed me

Before I knew it I was falling in love

Slipping and sliding down a tunnel

Of affection

The walls of which were greased

With loving phrases, affection touches

Compassionate eyes and hopeful promises.
