Poetry--Dry Those Tears
About
This was another Poetry Challenge. And a challenge indeed. I had 45 minutes to follow somewhat strict rules.
Each line had to a certain amount of words....6,5,4,4,5,6...and the theme was Mother Earth thinking along the lines of the movie Wall-E as in what the earth looked like.
The first two parts had to have words of sorrow and destruction. The last two parts had to be drying tears and showing hope.
I barely made the 45 minute time limit so I wasn't able to do any kind of revising.
Thank-you for taking the time to read Dry Those Tears!
Dry Those Tears
Tears fall softly from the sky
Weeping Willow born to cry
Wailing winds echo despair
Screaming for someone’s care
Drowning forever in future sorrow
Mourning resources, none left for tomorrow
Stripped of beauty once held light
Ravaged from once glorious might
Naked, terminated of life
Emptied by human’s knife
Barren wastelands no trees rest
Humans meant not be lecherous guest
Do not cry for help nears
Worry not, dry those tears
Future is still untold
Searching for someone bold
Time drifts like fallen sand
Call to Arms cure the land
Take only what is truly needed,
New life need be seeded
In order to survive
Earth needs to revive
Cleansed of all the greed
Have faith that we will succeed.
