Poetry- Home Again
Home Again
Tepid waters
Prodigal daughters
returning to the nest
after you sent them out
into the world
and said to
try your best
Like shipwrecked sailors
they seek your favor
once again
and flatter you
with compliments
You are not just
a parent
you are a
best friend
They say they
need some help
to get out of this bind
and know they can
depend on you
when help is
hard to find
A more true friend
does not exist
anywhere on earth
You've been there
for them
in their corner
ever since their birth
