prayers, miracle, or a wish?
My brother Marcos was the most wonderful person in the world to me. My brother Marcos is the most talented person I’ve ever known. I will always appreciate the fact that Marcos acknowledged me; his baby sister.
My brother Marcos was so handsome, into karate and played the guitar so magically. Whenever I went with my brother Marcos some where, there would always be some girl trying to talk or flirt with him. A lot of the times I was their excuse to talk to him. They would ask him, “who’s that little cute girl with you?” and his response would be, “my baby sister.” After that if he liked the girl, Marcos would exchange numbers with her and the rest was made history! Since my brother was into karate he was in great shape like Bruce Lee, his role model. I was so fascinated by the way he would beat up the little punching bag hanging from the ceiling. I loved to hear that sound he’d make with that little red punching bag. It sounded like tad am, tad am, and tad dam, but super fast. Moreover I was so amazed the way he would use his chuckle sticks. It seemed to me that he had lessons from the chuckle stick king himself, Bruce Lee. Lastly, out of all his wonderful talents my brother Marcos would play the acoustic and electric guitar the way Jerry Lee Lewis would play the piano; magically simple! He could play anything I asked him to play. He would play any request I requested like La Bamba by Ritchie Valence, Material Girl by Madonna, and much more!
Overall, I will always be grateful for the fact that my brother Marcos spent time with me. At the time we lived in the city of East Los Angeles, where we had a huge, green, and a playground of a backyard. This is where Marcos and I would spend most of our time together. He would always push me on my strawberry shortcake swing set, play hide and seek, or just relax together on the hammock hanging from our voluminous avocado tree. So I wouldn’t walk home alone Marcos would always be waiting for me in front of the Elementary School at 2:50 p.m. sharp. On the way home we would always stop at the neighbourhood liquor store; where he would buy me all my favourite candies.
Everyone else was always busy with their own issues in life and if Marcos wasn’t there, then no one would be. I know that this is the reason why I spend time, not just time but priceless time with my own children, my nieces, and nephews. I enjoy every moment of it. This is a wonderful kind of love that my brother showed me by taking the time to spend with me!
In conclusion Marcos was the greatest brother and most loving person to me. If I had the chance I would give my world just to have him here in the outside world with me. Where I can hear and see his magical fingers with guitar strings and spend some priceless time together.
NOTE: at the time i wrote this my brother was in prison and already had done 20+ years, God answered our (family and friends) prayers to release him finally they did after he did 26 years. That's all we ever hoped for and he has been out for almost 2 years and believe it or not he is doing really good. He already has his own car a job and a few things going for him, but this is all possible for him through God and with the help of his loving family!
