Purgatory (The Reality)

Purgatory

we stand inside two worlds
a foot on either side
caught between
within a dream
we painfully abide

we shout into the vastness
of a universe so mute
we laugh we scream
we paint the scenes
we hopefully refute

eyes and heart of flesh n blood
soul of something more
we fight to see
we reach to be
our minds become a door

through our veins rush elements
our spirits course their truth
fire we bleed
water we need
earth and air pull us in two

we reach out for eachother
seek solace for our pain
plant a seed
nurture and feed
and through it live again

and meanwhile those two worlds
spin away behind our eyes
we gaze in we read
then lust n greed
then struggle to be wise

Thirsting for our redemption
we dig deep into the soil
longing for peace
sweet release
In vain we constantly toil

From out of sodden ashes
Twin trees burst into life
hungrily seek
desperately eat
Become one with shadow n light

We stand inside two worlds
a foot on either side
choose to be
learn to fly free
Into both we carefully stride
