Inspirational. One of my favorite things to do is collect quotes.. These are unique. Thanks for sharing
I cannot think of anything less inspirational than Simone de Beauvoir's quote "One is not born a woman, one becomes one". If you actually read her book "The Second Sex" from which this quote comes, her point is that society, not nature, teaches women to behave in ways benefiting male chauvinism and to support patriarchy - to be always the 'second sex'. This is what the quote means. It does not mean anything ennobling. Simone de Beauvoir wrote this line to critique women's place in society and to try to undermine patriarchy, and teach women how to stand up for themselves. I think she would turn in her grave if she found out that women were actually being 'inspired' by this. It's one of the most damning things she could say about our society.
SUPERB!
Women have never been seen by menfolk with proper understanding. One need not to say : no women ,no men .
its supposed to mean that women are more powerful than men when they compare them . not to insult them . only one of the quotes i found offensive was the one saying women hate each other because of men . no - we hate each other because of other reasons . not just men .
Does anyone find it bothersome that most of these quotes are ment to inspire women but they constantly are comparing us to men?
east or west womens r the best

I find most of these quotes insulting and outdated ideas! I was looking for inspirational quotes about women, and instead of feeling positive I'm angry at the stupid stereotypes about cattiness, looks, women vs. men, intelligence, and in genereal very sexist
how could you even think of including quotes like this:"How can a woman be expected to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly normal human being? ~Oscar Wilde"
I just loved this!
Thank you!

verily verily some so real.
i find some quotes very insulting for women. really! it seems like those quotes are showing that women are just dumb human beings who only knows how to seduce men. where's the female empowerment in that when women are just used as sex objects?!
The tea bag quote is Eleanor Roosevelt, not Nancy Reagan.. probably used the quote because they stayed in the same house. (:
Interesting quotes on womanhood

THanks for this one, too, Maddie. In my weekly newsletter, I always include 4 or 5 "quotable quotes" and I try to have a balance of quotes from men and women. The big quote sites are predominanly male-dominated, and my readers are predominatly female. So I've booked marked this baby, and will be drawing upon it in the weeks to come. Much appreciated!
