Read My Eyes
Read My Eyes
Read my eyes
speak to my tongue
I feel choked by the world sometimes
And ask, if only the tongue could hear
And the ear could speak
Then there would be no need to read my eyes
My tongue would listen
I trust, the ear would speak with wisdom
Of all the faults the tongue has caused in the world
But if the ear were to speak,
Would the tongue listen for my heart?
I just need the ear to stick with the earing
For my heart to find healing
Sometimes in the innocence of sound
Like the baby laughing next door
If only the ear would seek innocence
And the tongue mould beauty
Then my ears would read joy and happiness
If only, if only I can respond to the sound of innocence
That begs me to come
So that my ears can hear the tunes
With which my tongue can mould beauty
Then. then my eyes would be a beauty from the inside
The innocent would want to look at me, and I would smile back,
I would smile from the depth of the beauty within, I would see happiness with my eyes: within me, within me
Could innocence be that precious?
Do I need it? You would ask. Where can I get it please?
Would this world be a better place if you and I would be innocent?
Then I guess, we both need to teach the tongue to listen like the ear, and the ear....To speak like the toungue, to our hearts, when the eye sees innocence, to protect it for our hearts
