Reason For A Rainbow (poem)

Updated on January 20, 2013

The stars announce a heaven far below

A paradise of wonder and surprise

A haven for a heart all set aglow

The secret told in every lover’s eyes

-

I know the blessing of another dawn

The sweetness of the scent which thrills the air

I know the Joy to build my dreams upon

The reason for a rainbow lingers there

-

I never knew how far I was from whole

A fool I glimpsed the meaning of the day

Too blind to hear the music of the soul

Was locked within myself so far away

-

Then stars announced a heaven there in view

And love pronounced the blessèd dawn of you

Martin (Mhatter99) - I enjoyed this poem for the nice adherences of words in it, plus the clear meaning of the bunch of them that even I, a regulation dummy, could understand and appreciate. Nice work, Martin. Hard work, but worth the effort from this point of view.

I have been working on Ottava Rima, which has this same rhyming pattern except with an extra ab. Anyways, always a pleasure. Jamie

This is lovely. I think love is one of those things that you don't really know waht it is until you find it. And once you do you wonder how you ever lived without it.... what a beautiful heart warming poem.
