Record: Skipping

Updated on December 20, 2012

I walk a step - just one -

{| - and then stop. :
"Did I do it right?"
A pause lingers
just long enough
for worry and doubt to refuel.

I hesitate -
out of both doubt and of fear.

I take my second step with similar aplomb.
And a third.

Oh, no! Did I just...?
It was uneven!

I think it was uneven!
Yes! Yes! Definitely uneven!:}
(repeat per anxiety's whim...)

I walk a step...
I am exhausted.
I am frustrated!
I am PISSED!
It's been 2 hours!
I am DAMNED $@%&#^! pissed!!!

I am so stuck!
But I cannot - I MUST NOT GIVE UP!

...I take a step, again -
"just one"...
