Remembering Dad from the Eyes of Others

Updated on July 8, 2017

Resting Now

No more pain, no more worries, no fears and no more tears…

Gone in the flesh only for so many people were touched by you, affected by you and so many loved you…

When I think of you memories of a Proud, Stubborn, feisty, yet cool Man often appears in my mind…

I wrote this for you and it comes from what I have taken from the eyes, and the words of those who loved you dearly ... Of those who knew you even better than me…

I wrote this to Honor You for help bringing Me In This World… By accident or on purpose I Am Here…

Not about Our History that’s important, not about the times we didn’t agree with each other…

Before you closed your eyes you knew that I had come to love and honor you…

Before you closed your eyes you were making peace with God and those treasured memories inside of you…

I stand here today as a representative of One of the many children who called you Daddy…

I stand here today to tell Your Spirit what I didn’t get time to tell your flesh;

Thank you for finding time, even while you hid your sickness, to show me that loving side of you, for I knew it was in there…

Rest Now for your children are here, family and loved ones are here to say goodbye because you were loved more than you know…

Written for my departed father…

      Thank you Jamie! I appreciate your comment. Some stories have to be told in order to heal.
