Retiring: Put My Time In

Updated on January 3, 2017

Put my time in, paid my dues, looking forward towards joining the ranks of the retired…

Can’t wait to get up late, sleep late and collect a check without taking a step…

Can’t wait to travel when I want, go when I want, stay long as I want…

Catch up with old friends, meet new friends and enjoy the life of someone who knows about working…

Knows about struggling and knows that it was time to stop having to face a time clock.

Retiring with my mind intact, body mostly intact and the strength to do something new if I choose to…

Retiring on my OWN FREE WILL and not because of stress, and not because of on the job mess…

Retiring not with animosity on my lips, or old age starting to kick into high gear along with all the grey hairs.

Put my time in, paid my dues, retiring without having to be dragged out, or told to get out by Father Time.

If you see me smiling more, styling more, traveling more and always seem to be headed towards new doors, rest assured, I now carry the retiree fire and peace of mind; good times is all we desire.

To all the retirees and the soon to be retired, continue to enjoy or learn how to enjoy because you exemplify someone who knew about keeping a job...

Nice! I "semi-retired" last year to run my own business and write. Can't retire yet anyway so might as well enjoy doing my own thing. Very nice salute to the retiree, Poetic Word Bird. Voted up and awesome.
