Romantic Poetry: Those Beautiful Things You Say

Updated on February 28, 2014

Ever second is like an hour
Every hour like a day
I'm going crazy to hear your voice
And all those beautiful things you say

Remember that night we played
Talking sexy on the telephone
We explored the unknown
Leaving no unturned stone

It was like unraveling a mystery
And finding another at the end
We went at it for hours
Neither one of us would bend

Now silence fills my home
My phone hasn't rang in days
I know you need to do your thing
But I miss those beautiful things you say

I keep remembering each word
As if you were whispering in my ear
It makes it so hard to wait
So hard for you not to be here

Yes, you got that sense over really well. The time goes so slowly doesn't it?!

It can be interpreted either way, but I was trying to capture that anticipation you feel when you're waiting to talk to someone you are enamored with.

Lovely poem! It's so good to hear those words from a loved one.

I like the rhythm of this and the portrayal of emotions is deftly done. Does this one come back or not?!

      All the best. Ann
