Rooted Within It

Updated on April 23, 2013
AudreyHowitt profile image

Audrey is a poet, classical singer and voice teacher, recovering attorney and licensed psychotherapist.

time besieged them

with an absence of regard

it pressed

upon every emotive nuance

controlling the colors

of thought's bleary resonance

a trumpeted version

of now

ponderously moving

its tiny seconds

to a later

whose cut comes undone

in a blister

i take its head

and whisper my name

to recall who i am

when it alights upon me

blistered in the wind

i stand rooted

within it
