Ruby Red Fantasy
In July,
I was born with rubies in my eyes
and now I can’t find them.
But, I haven’t lost my sight.
I just fantasize
of rubies on my neck,
rubies on my wrist,
rubies on my fingers…
shit, I’ve got ruby red nails
on my finger tips.
I am a ruby red queen
in my ruby red dreams.
If diamonds are a girl’s best friend,
rubies are closer than kin.
I mean, closer than my mom
closer than my heart.
In a golden sea,
I float in a ruby red ark.
I will plot
until I touch them
and I will murder just to wear them.
I will confess a ruby red confession,
I’ve got a ruby red obsession.
Don't offer me help,
I don't operate with discretion.
I need it, want it, I got to have them
rubies wrapped around platinum
rubies wrapped around gold.
Give ‘em to me young.
I’ll cherish them when I’m old.
I just want to hold
a heavy ruby broach
close to my soul.
Actually, here is my soul.
How many rubies can I get for it?
I’m trembling.
I will sacrifice my man for them.
I’d lose my cool
and get reckless like an animal.
Put me in the zoo.
I’m a loose fool.
Put a ruby in front of me
and there’s no telling what I might do.
I remember the day we met,
as if an hour hasn’t passed.
It was the day I was born
that I learned rubies were
made to be worn.
If you think I’m a problem,
lock me in a ruby red cage
so I can die in a ruby infested daze.
Basically what I’m saying
is, I don't want flowers.
You better make sure
I’ve got rubies lining my grave.
