SELLING THE HOUSE...by b. malin
LET THE GAMES BEGIN...
ONLY 8 BLOCKS TO THE BEACH...
I know, I know, I've been away for a LONG, LONG, time, 2 months to be exact. We finished the Condo with the view down in Florida land...Then caught the "Flu", and were laid up in bed for a Month, or was it Two? We Tearfully said good-by, as we bid our Neighbors adieu, and drove back to New Jersey to sell the house. Should be a "piece of cake" we assured one another, after all we've sold a few homes in our married life...And so let the "Sale" begin.
We found a Great Realtor, who listed the house looking all Shiny and New in his advertising. The pictures that his Photographer took were Fabulous, simply Fabulous. Neighbors came by to give their opinions. "You'll sell quickly, the house looks Beautiful inside and out". It really did, because the front of our house is Brick, and so we'd brought some RED Mulch for landscaping, and the Roses and all, were starting to bloom. One neighbor even brought a friend by, and then asked to use the hall Bathroom! My oh My! And, I might add, a Realtor was coming by in 10 minutes with a "Prospective Buyer". But we smiled at the neighbor and said "SURE, GO AHEAD", as we prayed he was only going to URINATE!
So we've had an "Open House" for the Realtors to see, although it seems like our Realtor wants to keep everything "In House" for his Agents. However, over the Memorial weekend, with weather that seemed like early March...COLD and Rainy, Realtors and Prospective Buyers, were making appointments to come by. Alas, on Sunday and Monday, the Sun was Shinning brightly...but still a bit cold. There seems to be some interest, but we won't know anything untill at least Thursday or Friday, due to the 3 day "Rescission" period for the Buyer.
So while we play the waiting game and hope...I am out there covering the Red mulch that "Nutsy" the squirrel is digging holes in to bury his Treasures. He actually has the nerve to stand in the driveway, little hands on his hips, as he watches me. He comes back when he thinks I'm not looking (but I am looking from the living room windows) to make sure I haven't taken any of his "Treasures"!
We are Hopeful, the house will Sell in a Timely Fashion... but just to make sure we've covered all our bases...I've dusted off "St. Joe" given him a kiss, and asked for his help once again, to "Sell This House"! Hey, he's helped this little "Jewish Girl" in the past... he has NO BOUNDARIES...And I also whispered to him, he gets to move to Florida with us.
