Same prepration different stroke

While every sports has its own challenge, sports men and women all over the world prepare the same way but with different mindset although everyone prepares to win but winning doesn't come just by the way one prepare because passing an exam isn't just by reading for it.

The call for the high jump contest was adhered to by many athletes and while the construction of the venue was going on, all the contestants started preparing.

It is going to be a world class competition and the winner goes home with a fat cheque.

There were contestants from all over the world but attention wasn't paid to our country not because we lacked talent but because our government had nothing in place for talent development so it became an individual prepration. While governments of other countries poured in money to set up the needed infrastructure to nurture talents, we resorted to communal support.

Let me categorically say that the whites has everything in place while the blacks has nothing. But there is one thing special about blacks that is why after preparing in a sub standard environment with classless equipments, blacks go out there and turn around victory.

The pitch is ready and seeded athletes from different countries passed the screening and among them was John white and John black. These two Men had one thing in common; they both believe that they will emerge the overall winner but the problem is that two athelets cannot win the first place so who between them is the favorite to win?

Let's take a look at their preparation because it's definitely going to be either John white or John black.

There were a total of twenty one contestants from ten countries and each contestant has numerous sponsors so apart from governmental support, they all enjoy corporate support and John White who already caught world attention enjoys global endorsement and has big corporations under his palms.

His training costumes alone can sponsor one or two of the contestants participating in the competition not because they are from poor background but because the government of their respective countries pays little or no attention to sports men and many a time, funds mapped out for sports development are diverted by some individuals in the government.

John white has everything it takes to win the competition because he is the no one seeded high jumpper famous for his jumping style. High jumppers normally do the backward flip known as the Fosbury Flop but John White broke record with his unique style.

John white is a champion of champions and he is full of energy but his critics believes that he lacks the pedigree of great champs. It is believed that a champion is born for a particular thing, take for example some of the great footballers in the world like Pele, Maradona, Jay Jay Okocha, Ronaldinho, Zidane, Sam Okwaraji; these guys were born to play football, they didn't just learned to dribble rather they were born for it that is why when they were at their pecks, they controlled the football pitch.

Does John White control the high jump track?

Well, take a look at his last training session and determine if he controls the track or if his critics are right but whatever be the case, the way he is preparing for the competition is nothing but the right way because one need a proper mindset to be a champion and that is what most of the contestants lack. How can one focus with limited preparation, when the only thing that person can boast of is self determination? No government fund to even sponsor transportation and the little fund that comes on board is considered charity.

Every victory begins with a good preparation and a good preparation moulds talents. While John White has everything in place, the twenty one seeded contestant John black has one message for him.

John Black came from a part of the world that is considered third class because of the rate of backwardness in every aspect of life in that part of the world which naturally is the heart of the world because almost everything that keeps the world going is deposited in quantity and quality in that part. That part of the world is no other place but Africa.

Africa is blessed with lots of talents but the problem in Africa is nurturing and encouraging these talents. Imagine where so many Africans are in the world with the amount of corruption, economic mismanagement and poor governmental input yet these set of notable men and women excelled simply by individual effort. While the Western world has almost everything needed to knock out any opponent yet Africans always give them a tough fight.

And that is what John black wants John white to know because he could own the most expensive training gigs but talent is not bought with money.

John black might not have any corporate support, night not train with the most sorphiscated gadgets but there is something he has which you can't find anywhere and it is communal support because there is no single day that he trained and people failed to troop out in their numbers to watch him display his skill. What keeps all eyes wide open is his jumping style.

John Black is the twenty one seeded athlete yet he is the second favorite to win the contest and what his critics don't understand and will never understand is that Africans believe so much in individual strength because they are faced with numerous challenges apart from the main challenge which is excelling in any given competition.

How must does the government invest in sports like boxing, track and field, baseball, hockey, basketball yet Africa have produced top class individuals in all these sports.

Alot of attention is paid to football and countries like Nigeria ranks the best footballing nation in Africa but little support is accorded to even the national team, the training infrastructure is nothing but zero yet the Nigeria national teams has set their place in the world, both the junior and senior teams and both the male and female teams. And that is one thing John Black actually has for John White...

'Buddy, it's the same preparation because we all want to win but trust me it's simply a different stroke because jumping is my talent'.

You see, It's doesn't matter how limited the resources might be, believe in yourself and in your talent then bring out the best in you. When they display acrobat; the world say wow but when we do; they say black magic.
