Sand and Sea | Two Poems

Updated on May 30, 2015

Easy Chair

Source

Perched in a secluded,

Soft and sand easy chair

High on the cliff;

Regarding seabirds eye to eye

As they soar and skim

On magical breezes--

Transfixed by the folding,

Shifting rainbow sky

Of sunset dreams,

I wrap my cares and woes

In a layer of dreamy nonchalance

And toss them to the swallowing sea.

Then, exulting in the light and color,

I raise my camera, steady, aim

And shoot the wind.

Sunset Dreams

Source

Staring out to sea,

I am held willing hostage

By the coruscations of

Kaliedescopic clouds

And setting sun.

Night gathers its cloak

Around the deepening dusk.

I return refreshed; yet somehow,

Supremely sedated.

Both beautifully written poems. Oops just realised my comment is almost identical to Audrey's.

@ bravewarrior - Aww, shucks, Shauna ;) Thank you so much. I'm glad you are enjoying my old works. I don't write poetry much anymore; it feels as if my muse died along with my mother. We were each others' best audiences. ;)

@ Jodah - LOL No worries. I'm pleased you enjoyed these snippets so much. Thank you.

Wonderful! That is perfect place to bring the camera. You never know what will appear on the photo. I voted it up and pinned it.
