Sand and Sea | Two Poems
Easy Chair
Perched in a secluded,
Soft and sand easy chair
High on the cliff;
Regarding seabirds eye to eye
As they soar and skim
On magical breezes--
Transfixed by the folding,
Shifting rainbow sky
Of sunset dreams,
I wrap my cares and woes
In a layer of dreamy nonchalance
And toss them to the swallowing sea.
Then, exulting in the light and color,
I raise my camera, steady, aim
And shoot the wind.

Sunset Dreams
Staring out to sea,
I am held willing hostage
By the coruscations of
Kaliedescopic clouds
And setting sun.
Night gathers its cloak
Around the deepening dusk.
I return refreshed; yet somehow,
Supremely sedated.
