Say My Goodbyes

Updated on March 17, 2011

Tears from heaven I cry

Needing you so much

I wish you were here

Lying next to me

Calling out your name in

My dreams

Only to awaken

To emptiness

All the memories

Aren't enough

To escape this loneliness

I feel inside

Why did you have to go

Leaving me feeling abandon

In this life to survive without

Your smile and your grace

To see me through the

Lonely nights

I reach out for you, embracing empty air

Come back to me

If only for a few chances

To hold you close to my heart for one last time

Say my goodbyes

To look into your eyes

Watch you catch my tears in

Your hand

I need this one last time

To set me free

So I can breathe again

I look over to where you should

Be sitting and run my

Hand across the vastness

Of my heart I don't blame you

For not saying goodbye

It wasn't in the stars

Still I miss you

Wish you were here

To hear your laugh

Now all that is gone

And I'm alone with my

Thoughts to keep me warm

Still I'm cold

I'm not being held in your arms

One last kiss is all I ask

Never to have your lips pressed

Against mine again I can't envision

I miss you this is my goodbye

Someday we'll meet again in

A different place

I'll welcome you as if you

Never left

I miss you I'll see you

If words are only painted fire; this poem is the fire itself. It burns of heart break, and loneliness. I am so sorry if this is what you are or have been through. Peace dear, CC
