Sea of Desire

Updated on April 30, 2015

In Rome she was known as Venus ~ goddess of love ~

The Greeks called her Aphrodite ~ love from above ~

Irresistible to all men when she arrived on earth ~

Married to a Smith God by Zues' hand at birth ~

She was more than a test tube baby ~ way back in B.C. ~

the product of her Fathers jewels cut off and cast to sea ~

by the hand of her only brother, Aphros rose to foam ~

Out of sea, she became known as desire to roam ~

The best of jewelry given her to wear, made from her husbands hands ~

No piece of mankind or even God was safe,no bodies, minds or glands ~

Women that she friended became as rich as gold ~

as cherished as a God herself, when in your arms behold ~

A living aphrodisiac and hence the very name ~

To speak of lust, breaking all rules of love, worship was her game
