Love like the Wind~ a Poem
Just as everything else that grows, love requires balance, between holding on and letting go. Too often in our modern world, relationships fail because of this imbalance.
The wind blew with no patience,
breaking the branches of heart.
Frightening love with gusts of fear,
tearing things apart.
Hate blowing out of control
For any and every one
Not even a child could still its pace
From truth to lies it spun
Exhaling power upon my face
Blinding me with tears of dust.
Love has blown away and lost
Replaced with pain and distrust.
With a cool and gentle breeze of air,
you lightly brushed my face.
A love unsaid, unseen, but felt
But then there was no trace.
I saw you move up into trees,
then swirl underneath my knees.
Stirring up these dead dried leaves
but only for a tease.
You sailed a boat across a lake,
as I watched upon the shore.
Then left me softly once again,
to soar and then explore.
Attracting me you lifted up,
by your air above so high,
But I'm just a crushed and weightless leaf
still waiting for you to fly.
