Seasons bring variety, but is that what you want?

Each Season Has Its Own Beauty

Do you have a spring in your step,

When Springtime comes around?

See the newborn lambs

Skipping all around.

Very pretty.

very cute.

But not for me.

Do you get a thrill from

Autumn leaves underfoot.?

They crunch with every step you take,

A fascinating sound they make

and colours go from brown to yellow,

With shades of red and orange,

A freshness in the air

As sticky Summer nights have faded.

A beauty of its own.

But not for me.

Does the first flurry of snow

Get your heart racing,

Make you welcome Winter holidays,

Families and friends, cosy fires

At home.

While children play outside

And try to build their snowmen.

Healthy cheeks aglow..

Magical... I know,

But not for me.

Just give me Summer, please.!

Warm sunshine on my bones.

Heat in the air around,

Roses, bouganville abound.

I only need one season,

though some rain we need at night.

Parched ground and vegetation

Must have water and light.

But sunshine is my winner,

I've never tired of it.

To walk a long a seashore

Or stand atop a cliff.

To see the sunshine glimmer,

Fills my heart with joy.

I've never missed the wind and rain,

The elements that cause me pain.

I can live without the seasons.

Summer is for me.

Thank you Blossom for leaving a lovely , encouraging comment.

I'm afraid, though that 20 years in the south of Tenerife l never once missed the seasons.

It grieves me that we ever had to leave that lovely little island.

It was dry, though, not humid. I realise how yukky severe humidity can be.

Lovely writing and images, but I've lived where there are barely any seasons and although the tropics are warm, they're also humid and there's no escape from the sameness. Make the most of the seasons, they're a real joy.

    Great composition about seasons.

Seasons sure bring a variety in life and that is good cause otherwise life would be monotonous.

    Dim,

Actually, New England is a cluster of 6 states in the Northeastern part of the United States, and I have heard the weather is similar to Britain, but you may be a bit north geographically. Sorry you had to move!

Hello dear Vincent, poet of my dreams

Thank you for such a beautiful comment. I also cannot resist the picture of the little lamb leaping.

    Hi Karen Hellier.

I used to live somewhere warm all year round and I miss it dreadfully.

I try to to see the beauty in each season, but here in the north of England it feels as though we have at least 10 months of winter......

Thank you so much for commenting. I have heard that New England is a very beautiful State.

Actually, yes, LOL...a change of seasons is what I want! I live in New England and part of the reason I enjoy it is the fact that we do have a change of seasons. I hope you live somewhere warm where you can have summer all the time?

Oh I felt the spring in your step, along with your choices. I agree with you dear poet, summer is indeed also for me. I enjoy the warmth of the sun, the breezes off the sea, the colors of the sky, the songs sung by so many critters around us. The green leaf of summer is no doubt one of my favs, the other season have their mystery as well, such as fall with its majestic display of color and the aliveness of Spring and the cold chills of winter. But give this poet summer anytime, it warms my heart and feeds my soul. Bravo well done, enjoyed the pictures you posted as well, cute little lamb jumping and skipping about.
