Seasons With a Sister

In the sun-burned orange of an August day
and the wet of hot upon breezes blows
those winds of where the angels play
and dragons fly in wisps of rose
and a friend knows
Watermelon seeds are sticky in teeth
and dragons fly smiling where flowers grow
the wind still catches the same of the trees
and we laughed until the seeds we sowed
and a friend knows
As red and yellow leaves will fall
in autumn as the wind it grows
and we ask God to help us all
but scarecrows were meant for the crows
and a friend knows
Softly snow from Heaven's Grace
and we cut the tree from the stem is grows
so we set the table with him a place
not quite as fast as time it goes
and a friend knows
The heart shaped candies and colored eggs
and pansies popped up in a row
the sun now shining on my face
and love is seeding within my soul
and a friend knows
August moon returns into sky
and the wetness slips back to my toes
the angels and dragons return to fly
when I cut my finger on her rose
and a friend knows.
