Seeking Peace
Seeking peace I breathe
A simple meditation
"In...
out ...
"
The rush of life
Loud around me
Fades into a warm
Dark
room
My womb
Bathed in golden light
Noise of passage
Accepted and dismissed
Thoughts cease
Except for
“In…
… out … “
And then
A face breaks
The surface of my peace
With a furrowed brow
“I want death”
He says
Terrified and angry
Sorry he came
Feeling short-changed
“I love you,”
I respond
He sinks back
To sullen silence
“In…
… out …”
My love surrounds him
He becomes part
Of the whole
The cooperative
That is me
Passing Cloud
When the cloud passes
Across the sun
The cold wind whistles
Through me
Experiencing alone
Slap and caress of place
Praise and rebuke of time
Chill traversing my body
Like darkness
Crossing the moon
My imagination
Crossing the room
At the edge of cloud
Bright white light
Darkness
A chill
And then
Sun
Warming
Again
