Seen the People ( for April Poetry Month)

Seen the People

People forget kind acts and love,
Carry on harsh word like a thorn,
Bear abuse and slurs thrown ever,
Cherish a true word of repentance,
Seen the people stick to a penny,
Kick the fortunes along their way.

Shun guys like dust lying on earth,
Embrace all in their ethereal space,
Adore mortals as deities in temple,
Spread fragrance and drink venom,
Seen the people die for false honor,
Live like kings in the desolate dens.

Fritter time to seek a holy abode,
Ask for breaths to hug the world,
Grow smiles and laughs on lips,
Keep frowns in the vase of heart,
Seen the people go mad for love ,
Rob the lives of wealth of breath.

Wander in dark to pursue the evil,
Savor light to brighten the sight,
Live as pellucid water to mirror all,
Turn a stone to strike and crush,
Seen the people turn blind to love,
Pour nectar into hearts and souls.

I see the alley, and guys go alone,
How leaves fall off on the ground !
I hear the wind to whisper in ears,
All good will go, all bad too will go,
Seen the people act like immortals,
Feel as dust to shine in the world !

Meaningful verse Harish. Many people are ignorant these days and they basically only think of themselves. If they paid more attention to the other people and the world around them, life may be much better these days. I voted up, shared and pinned it.

You summed it up so nicely. Our thoughts and gestures mean a lot to others and also to ourselves. A guy spurned or abused simmers for a long time, and likewise a kind act is etched in our mind forever. Kevin, thanks for presenting such kind thoughts and for voting and sharing.

Glad that you liked this poem. Venkatachari M, you are too generous and very supportive. When I peek into my heart and mind, I trace some dingy spots. This poem is an effort to look into the jargon of human behavior. Awareness is a great mirror that reflects our real face. Thanks for reading this poem and for voting. I appreciate your great comments.
