arms waving

i wonder that my semaphore seems

not to impart

the least bit of information.

flag unfurling,

blue currents

carrying their message

in precise time.

You have the mind of a poet no doubt. Take a seemingly insignificant action and write a poem about it....lovely work.

Nice! I remember learning semaphore as a young lad in scouting. Besides its use it taught teamwork. Thank you for sharing a delight and learning.

I agree with Bill. I'm afraid i would get mixed signals since i know nothing about semaphore. Your poetry seems to open my senses to learning, but i'm always looking for an undercover meaning....

We learned semaphore in the Girl Guides, too. I remember standing on a cliff-top, sending a message to another girl on another cliff across a small bay for a test. I don't remember much of it now! An interesting hub and sweet little poem.

I remember my mum talking about semaphore years ago, so yes your poem does make sense to me, and did I say its awesome? lol!

pleasant tho it is, this gentle piece lacks the power and depth of most of your poetry, It seems more a casual reminiscence than a poem by Audrey.

It is that Clark. Sometimes, the small slices of life are like that for me

Thanks Ruby! I think of the semaphore as a metaphor--

I haven't thought about semaphore for many years. Thanks for giving such an interesting reminder and for sharing your lovely poem, Audrey.

This was a nice poem. I enjoyed reading it. I don't know anything about semaphore. I will be looking at that now. Take care.
