I remember raking those mounds of leaves. It is a bit sad when the color fades and the winds blow the leaves away. Lovely poetry.

Ruby, I've used this method of ridding my lawn of leaves on quite a few occasions. Very well done poetry.

Autumn says goodbye to summer and welcomes winter. A beautiful way to connect the seasons. The variety of stunning leaves falling from trees becomes one of nature's most beautiful shows.

Love your poetry Ruby. Votes up and sharing.

Mike, i am smiling BIG time. Thank you. I am finally settled in except for some painting and the painter is too busy right now so i must wait. I worked in the yard all morning, cleaning out flower beds. The people i bought the house from loved everything that grows, even raspberries growing in the mums. Thank you for believing in me...

This happens to me every year if I am patient enough, and the leaves blow far enough away down the hill that no one knows where they came from. I enjoyed your poem very much.

Beautifully written, Ruby and perfectly timed for the season falling around us. Raking leaves brings back such wonderful memories of childhood - jumping into the pile once raked, then starting over. I'm listening to the Andy Williams number right now. Oh how I miss those deeply sweet and romantic songs with his comforting voice.
