Seven Is A Magical Number

Updated on April 24, 2017

Happy Birthday my big Boy

I missed your birth your first step's

Your laughter your first words

I view pictures

As I watch for changes in your features

when you lost a tooth I cried

I wasn't there

I mark each milestone, via Facebook pictures

Facebook chat

I watch from across the globe as you grow

Wishing I could hold your tiny hands

I wasn't there for a great many things

Now that you are seven

Will you remember that I read you stories

And kissed your cheeks as I tucked you in at Night's

That we blew the pollen from dandelions in the park

Will you remember the swing I pushed you on

and our laughter as we played in the sand

That as you rode your bike

I admonished "stop and look both ways"

I cannot be with you this Year

But my big boy, I'm there in your heart

In every wide-eyed stare

In the wrinkle of your nose when you smile

In the wonder, as you look at nature questioningly

It's in hugs your Father give you every night

In the loving ways, he reminds you that Grandma loves you

You will always have your Grandmas', heart

To the Moon and the Stars till infinity and beyond

For my Ryusei Romeo my one and only Biologic Grandchild born to my eldest Son he is Japanese by birth he holds dual Citizenship as the Child of a Military Parent stationed in Japan. My Grandson lives over 3,000 Miles away I rarely get to see him. It's a difficult trip, one that creates difficulties with flight as I am physically disabled. I'd hate to think that Immigration laws would prevent him from traveling to see me.
