Shame on Me Too

Updated on May 5, 2015

You begged me to have a heart, offer mercy for your shame

To disregard the wrong you've done, not reprimand or blame

Continual dishonour to your mate should never come to be

Recurrent forgiveness is not love, it's pity actually

While passion within will waste away, I'll fill with heavy grace

Clemency in my cavity, love sits out of place

I need to be amnesic for my memory to reset

For there's a subtle finespun thread associating forgive with forget.

I was meaning for the heart to forget and not the mind....that would be like letting reason go :)

I do have to say this was beautifully written and flowed nicely. Forgiveness is really hard for most people. Forgiveness the opposite direction is my problem...I forgive everyone for everything and completely give them a second chance and most of the time get burned so I don't recommend many times to forgive and forget would mean you wouldn't have something to reference and learn from and without that history repeats itself.
