Shattered Beauty
Beautiful
but the shell is melting away
like tears through mascara
finding refuge in fibers
staining her snow white dress
inkblots appear
angels crying
devils mirth
but she dances on
as strong as iron
and harder than stone
kingdoms fall
at a woman's groan
barefoot pirouette
through clouded eyes
she allows him
beautiful
but it is shattered
and falls like pieces
of porcelain from a doll
tinkling on tile
like her toes
he takes her
and she dances under the moonlight
she dances in the twighlight
she dances under the dim yellow light
that casts its pallor over the kitchen
she dances for him
and he takes her
there on floral covered formica
beautiful
melting down the drain
he tap dances away
and porcelain pricks his heel
while she picks up broken pieces
and with them
applies a smile to her face
because as he slumbers
poison is setting in
and under hells light
she will dance upon his grave
