She Let's Me Be

Updated on July 12, 2012

She’s a girl I know
And I know her name
She’s a different girl
No she’s not the same
As the other girls
The one’s I know
I already told them
That they could go

When I see her face
And say hello
She smiles at me
And starts to glow
So then I see
What I want to know
She’s in love with me
And I know it’s so

She’s in love with me
And she’s living free
‘Cause I let her be
What she wants to be
It’s the same for me
And I’m living free
‘Cause she lets me be
What I want to be

She just likes to sit
And be with me
She never asks
What I want to be
She likes to laugh
And keep me company
That’s all I ask
And I feel free

She lets me talk
‘Cause I talk a lot
She listens well
More often than not
She’s not like work
Or full of pride
She’s just a girl
Who’s different inside

She’s in love with me
And she’s living free
‘Cause I let her be
What she wants to be
It’s the same for me
And I’m living free
‘Cause she lets me be
What I want to be

@Koshaugh - Thank you and sorry for taking so long to respond.

@raciniwa - Thank you again! I know you have commented on other poems and I'm trying to get to them. I appreciate you following me...

I just tried to describe how it should be between a man and a woman. Keeping company and letting each other be who they are...
