A Poem

You treat me like a yo-yo

with the ups & downs.

You dangle me on a string

and swing me all around.

You toy with my love

and treat me like a pawn.

You move me, and use me

like you know where I belong.

I'm sick of your games

and I know you're bored to death.

So move your queen and I'll be king,

put our relationship in check.

Don't mistake my love for weakness,

I have the strength to leave your side.

My Loves off the table,

Checkmate...

Adios & Goodbye.

Ah the never ending bad habit of emotional manipulation. Selfishness can really ruin a relationship, let alone the fact that when it comes into play it stops being a relationship at all. It becomes a parasitic state of disadvantage with unfortunate and oportunistic results. I like your vision. YOu protrayed a situation that I am sure many have been through. Me included. Awesome!!

I love the girl with the hair. You really can do more than just write. Wish I could do both.

Just so you know, love your work and the fact that as a writer you are NOT afraid to write"outside the box". I get tired of the same old, same old and you are definitely not. Really good work.

Thanks Doc. I appreciate the courteous honesty. Glad you get that I'm not publishing an autobiography here, just experimenting. Sometimes it's hard taking cold criticism, so thanks for being straight forward.

Not bad. Short but interesting. I understand the "idea". All of us as writers get them and let's face it that's really all that places like HubPages or Blogs are about. A place to "test our wares". So hats off for something different. I voted UP and interesting.

Hey Sky, Thanks for the advice and the comment. It's really not about me, I haven't been dating for a couple years now. None the less, thanks for putting in your 2 cents. Always glad to have you drop some wisdom down in my comments section. Seriously appreciate the kind words on this hub. Have a blessed Christmas man. --Brian

You are a very young man, and that in itself is great to have on your side.

It's sad to say that it's better to be ready, than to be sorry. But that's the reality of life in our times.

But don't use your special ability. It is special when you can get through it easy as a young man.

Don't use being strong and ready for a disappointment as the means in your negotiations.

I know you said it's not about a relationship, then I will tell you it's a great attitude to have in your corner, because someone, somewhere, is now trying to build such an attitude.

It's a great poem because it touches on every day life and possibly all of our lives, who have been there done that. It always great to be prepared.

      Great work LV.

      Bless.
