She wept on Mother’s Day

I know why but cannot tell

Not embarrass just no courage

To reveal what’s in her heart.

I said time heals all wound

She said no, it’s a lie

I said pray and don’t fret

She said, I pray but I’m afraid.

Staring blank on the wall

I can sense she’s hurting

'Though I can never tell

The depth of her pain.

Softly she whispered

To defend her heart

Said, she’s lived long enough

With unbearable pain.

With morbid thoughts

That she disclosed

I fear that she might lose it

Give in to those evil impressions.

Cut her soul out

From the battle and struggle

It’s rough, it’s tough

To shelve those wicked thoughts.

She said the journey

Is heavy and bumpy

All the good overturned

So, is it worth all the trying.

Along the road of solitude

She tried to reach out

But in vain, no one can hear

Her voice of despair.

She tried to muster

The courage to tell

But people strayed away

And truth not portrayed.

With tears in her eyes

She gently whispered

I miss my damsel everyday

And, I love her all my life.

As a mom, this poem really touched me. I can't imagine the kind of pain one would endure having lost a child. This is such a powerful write, and yet tenderly presented.

      Blessings,

      Kim

A valid yet painful reminder of those things we hold so tightly, that healing cannot come forward. Sad yes, but in many ways a good thing to know we are not alone in the pain we feel. Thank You CrisSp.

I feel that heavy loss myself, even after all those years, but what is toughest is for the mother's that lose their children. You said it so well, there will always be that little piece within us that remembers.

As I read your words and am overcome with sorrow, I can't help but think of all the people who take their mothers, or guardians, for granted. This sentiment that you have written not only describes the respect and love you have for your own mother, but demands respect and love for all mothers.

Hi Crissp is that crisp in nature:

Loved the poem as it dragged me into a little moment:

The poem was a beautiful and oh, so painful as you (reader) willed her(mother) to rally and become an equal with her past.

I felt my heart pump pain

      Flow deep and wide

      As my body absorbed

      Life

But then I saw my other

And my mind swept past the here and now

A gave my soul a boost

Eager to grab the infinite of love

A sad poem, but oh so true in many families. Whether its the daughter or son who no longer talk to the mother, or the other way round, so sad and yet it can be sorted out so easily, wonderful!

Your words make me feel very sad. It reminds me of my bad relationship between my mother and me. It has even become worse these days. She has never been satisfied with what I am and what I do. But she had also a bad relationship with her mother. I have always tried to find a solution by talking to my mom about how we can treat and accept each other. Finally, she doesn't want to get in contact with me anymore. I love her and I know she loves me but our relationship is too complicated.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem which made me so thoughtful.
