Short rose poem

Updated on March 7, 2012

By Any Other Name

It is easy to see
And to be satisfied with
The immense loveliness
Of a handful of roses
In a crystalline vase

It is more satisfying though
To able to look at the lone
Red petal resting on the table
And become immersed in
Beauty magnified by simplicity

Thanks, Mary. It seems sometimes my problem is rushing and not paying enough attention to the detail that exists in my world. Writing helps me take pause and enjoy the little miracles.

Terrific poem. It's so easy to overlook the loveliness of simple things by focusing on the complex.
