Sister's Bad Habit

Updated on August 7, 2013
Source

The drunkard knelt praying,

While the nun stood cursing,

Fingering her Rosary,

One link missing,

A bead fell from the chain,

While the sot began pissing,

The sluggard stood slurring,

On the bead he was slipping,

In spilled whiskey,

He lost his brain,

Hail Mary,

Check his pockets,

Find some silver,

Buy some bread,

Bottle-cap his eyes and fold his hands,

Prop his feet,

With empty beer cans,

It's just her habit,

This sister is well fed.

Playdivadi: thank you for the visit and the compliment. To be compared to Colin (epi) is quite an honor indeed! And I certainly don't mind being labeled a comedian. If I can put a smile on your face, that makes me smile.

Where is the "daring" button, no to mention the "irreverent" button? You pushed a bunch with this one. Original is right! Up!

Oh, my! What a strong message and poem, Wayne. It paints a picture vividly, however unfamiliar to me! In fact, a movie-picture could be derived from it! I must vote it up and interesting!

The play on word "habit" is very interesting. Your mind is interesting!

BTW - that illustration is intriguing, too!!
