So If We Start
to wander among the breezy draught
so if we start to wander
amid the island breeze
and spend the hours of our thinkings
to unloose the ways to fail
to miss the point and then miss it again
while congratulating ourselves
and lest the hounds be loosed
to chase reason back into the pen of dignity
so if we start to wonder
among the winds of change
and see the eyes red and bleeding
the bony aching fingers of release
so if we start to wander
among the ruins of our own civilizations
and see the pillars of support
with nothing rested on them
arch the brow and pull the bow
i shall not fail to do as well
the ground is wet with dew and the fruit is ripe
let fly true that we may eat of the fruit together
