Song Lyrics - I Know Honey I Know

Updated on May 14, 2011
Source

You can’t change the world
I know honey I know
It’s all you think about
What happened to my beau?

It’s driving you to madness
I know honey I know
It’s all you talk about
Where is the love you used to show?

I know honey I know
It’s a sad world
And it seems that’s where I live
I know honey I know
It’s a cruel world
And my love is gettin’ harder to give

Let’s change our world tonight
Let’s do honey let’s do
It’s all I think about
Let my love come to you

Let the madness of love show
Let’s do honey let’s do
Let me drive you crazy
Let my body cover you

I know honey I know
We need our world
That’s where I should live
I know honey I know
It’s a beautiful world
And my love is all I want to give

Let me be your lover tonight
And ease your beautiful mind
Just think about how I’ll make you feel
Let’s see what together we can find

I know honey I know
You are my world
Inside you I will live
I know honey I know
Please give me your world
And change the one I can’t live with

@Freya - thank you! I keep thinking I need to change a lyric here and there... sometimes I keep chiseling... I'd like to hear it with music too!

@Teylina - First of all thank you for the nice comment. I keep hoping I can meet a musician/singer who can do something with my lyrics. This one needs that weary voice who looks into the eyes of the woman who still believes in him and wants to sooth his mind...

Docmo said it all--Glad to see you mention Elvis in here--he really was quite good at the slow, sensual sounds as he got older. I, too, hear some jazz--even some blues--definitely haunting, pursuing and provocative. I'm not a country fan particularly, but I can almost hear one or two type songs/singers I've heard who could do this justice--if not the way it's portrayed. Fabulous piece for several genres.

@Docmo - Thank you. Yeah... slow sounds good. I wrote this for myself because I've been so consumed by world events lately...

      @blondey - Thank you!

@Always - maybe a crooner would be the ticket! That's exactly right... just make love and forget everything else...

Great song- sensuous, sexy, lyrical and beautiful. well written and constructed. voted up and beautiful. there is a nice slow tune waiting to unite with this song somewhere.

If only Ole Blue Eyes were still with us, or perhaps, Elvis...Just a thought. Make love, not wars.....

      Cheers

@Majadez - that sounds good to me; I play the piano but can't sing at all... for real.... I'm trying to get my nerve up to go to some public poetry readings. I'm ready for the next step.

Perhaps a Jazzy-Blues type of melody. I can hear the piano ripples and sax tones rise and repeat with the rhythm of the lines. Would make an interesting piece should you decide to put music to it. Let us know if you do. ;)

@Majadez - Thank you for commenting. That's a good question about the music. It's a woman trying to soothe a man who is somewhat obsessed with politics and the world's problems. Maybe something slow... something they could get close with...

      Lovely and sexy.

What type of music would go with it?
