Sorry Excuse For A Life

Updated on April 19, 2012

Breath after breath
My life is a mess.
Step after step
Mine has no depth.

Day after day
I've lost my way.
Night after night
Please God, shed some light.

I've been gone for so long.
Doing everything wrong.
I need to renew.
This life of mine is overdue.

I took risks when I shouldn't have.
Ended up on a crooked path.
Leading no where but disaster.
Losing sight of everything I was after.

Something was holding me back.
For failure I have a knack.
I'm sleeping because I'm unwell.
Awake me now, just ring the bell

It's all over now.
No sweat on my brow.
Giving up is easy.
When nothing else can please me.

Too much stress over issues.
I must pay my dues.
It's time to come clean.
To be judged by the forces unseen.

Too late to repent.
The reaper has been sent.
It's me he's coming for.
To make me bleed from every pore.

Looking both ways before I cross.
Soon to be reunited with those that I've lost.
My time has come, my life is done.
So long, it was a good run.

Soon I'll be sent to hell or heaven.
The latter would be much more pleasant.
But it's not up to me, my choices have been made.
It will be decided, my soul will live on or burn and fade.

No time to speak my last words.
My breathe's gone with the fleeing birds.
Now it's all over for me.
This is the exodus of the second Irell Vincent Lee.

Lovely play on words and weather it's us or our friends that are making poor mistakes, it is never too late. I loved the way you wrote this. Ellen

thanks.I wrote it whilst my mind was dwelling on other people's bad decisions along with mistakes I've made in my own past.
