A Battle Lost

Updated on July 22, 2013

I hear the voices in my head
They're screaming that the world is dead.

The choices that were made are shame
Voices screaming "you're to blame!"

Souls are lost in clouds of pain
Droplets falling; they're blood not rain

You've made your bed with the wings of angels
No blessings here, your lies are tangled.

Wingless Angels with tears so red
The fault is yours, it's on your head

You stand with strength you show your might
Though it's fake, we fear your sight

What is right is now what's wrong,
This world is twisted, so weak so long.

My heart and soul held in your hands
My body limp no longer stands.

Your strength was once my saving grace
Now it kills my soul, it steals my face

Silence is a morbid sound
It's what is left where nothing is found

A world of doubt, blame and some self-pity rolled into interesting combination with lots of emotions and visions. I liked it! WB

Powerful imagery. Evocative & engaging. Took me to dark places that are oh so real. Thanks for sharing from your gut & experience. Well done. Thumbs up to be sure.
