Spring Cleaning: A Poem
She looked around at all the clutter
bottles, cups, and maybe some butter
magazines here and newspapers there
even a map to the 1982 World's Fair!
She sighed and took a deep dusty breath
coughed and gagged, saw visions of her death!
The headlines read: 'Twas Clutter That Killed Her'
'Did Dead Girl Ever Clean Her House? No Sir!'
Photos would be an embarrassment even under ground
Negative Nellies would certainly pass them around!
"No, I must do something about this today!"
From outside the clutter, someone heard her say.
It's not safe and probably most of it is trash
except for the leaning tower of books that looks about to crash!
She didn't get the memo that spring cleaning takes place in Spring
Her brain must be buried underneath that hairy, moldy thing!
I think it was a sandwich.
