Spring has arrived in all it's glory. Poetry

Updated on April 21, 2016

I am a writer of poetry and fiction. I especially love flash fiction. My name is Ruby, and I live in Southern Illinois. I am a retired R.N.

Spring has finally arrived!

My beautiful red bud tree, in full bloom with lavish lavender waving joyfully

My birds flocking to adorn the color endlessly

The bird house swaying in the spring breeze, beckoning, " Come inside. Your nest awaiting from last year "

The neighbor's yellow cat climbing, birds scattering from inborn fear

The grass green and lush surrounding the newly awakened tree

Dandelions creeping yellow, happy to be blooming aimlessly

A delightful sight to behold this lovely morning on Saturday

Spring has finally arrived at last. My spirit renewed as I watch nature's lively play.

Thanks, Ruby, for the email. I needed that. I will certainly visit your page more and connect with many others, especially poets. Lately there have been so much thoughts going through my soul and I simply must get them down on paper. Thanks for connecting. I love your work.

I've read a few of your poems, and because of you I was inspired to post a couple of my poems. I have written a lot of poetry lately.... more prose than anything....but I am digging through my work to see what I am brave enough to share. lol

Thank you for this beautiful image of Spring.

I walked through my backyard, as my grapevines are full right now, and thoughts roll around in my head. I need to write them down. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hello Shauna, spring is my favorite too, but this spring has been like no other that I can remember. Cold one day, warm the next. We've had so much rain, water is everywhere in the low land. Hopefully after this cold spell, it will warm up and be normal. Thank you so much...

Hi Genna, we have had the same kind of weather here too. It is only 60 today. The day I wrote this it was beautiful. I planted tomatoes yesterday, hopefully they will thrive. My humming birds are still around but only a few. Thank you dear one. Sorry I'm late...

Oh Ruby, isn't it wonderful? There is nothing like spring, as your poem relays so well in feeling and the senses. We had a preview, but then experienced a cold snap. The birds left for a bit, but are gradually re-tuning and returning, and the dogwood tree buds are swelling, getting ready to bloom. It's as though everything is tiptoeing about, wondering if it's okay to stay. I loved your poem, Thank you, Hugs.

These words reflect the growth of Spring so well; 'blooming aimlessly' is a great description of daffodils. They are my favourite flowers as they bring hope and lovely swathes of sunshine when many are planted together.

We have sunshine today but the cold has returned; there was snow and hail around yesterday. However, we still know it's going to get warmer and everything is growing. I'm waiting to see what delights my new garden brings before I decide exactly what to do with it.

      Lovely words, Ruby!

What a gloriously delightful poem of Spring here, Ruby!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading every word. I just love Spring and all of the new live bursting forward into that which is Spring.

I felt I was right there looking at the birdhouse swinging in that lovely tree.

      Peace and blessings

Hello Shyron, these muses can be so mean

They like to sleep and act like a queen

I've threatened to toss her out of my house

Then she acts better, quiet as a little mouse

She likes it when I write sad tales

Like today, she hoped I'd fail

I'm ready to ride her out of town on her broom

She's happy, " Saying it can't be too soon. "

      Blessings, and hugs...

Ruby, my gem of a friend what a delight and the video is fantastic, I thought I knew every one of Elvis songs but I don't recall this one.

Absolutely fantastic. And I love it.

I would have written you a poem, but instead

My muse is sleeping inside my

Why she chose this time to sleep?

As if she wants to make me weep
