Star Gazing
These are lazy days
And in the dusky haze
We all come out
We focus upwards
Off of ourselves
Because all’s not well
Inside, below
Star gazing
Those were better days
The ones before
This late spring
And the jade that age brings
And the songs we no longer sing
The hours we no longer spend
Star gazing, star gazing
We fall into line
We’re now so refined
We’re coiffed and we’re wired
But I’m breaking that down tonight
Tonight
I will look outside of myself
I'll bury the present and hoist the imagined
I'll trade wasted days for star gazing.
