Wobble... Stumble ...Totter...
We all wobble, totter, and stumble as we grow. And, we sometimes continue to do so throughout our lifetime. Here's hoping you find comfort in knowing there is someone there to hold, guard, catch and love you throughout your life. I wrote this as a tribute to the father my husband was to our children during his life. But, it is not just a tribute exclusive to a father. Substitute anyone who has held, guided, caught and loved us through the years, even if they now reside in your heart.
Wobble, Wobble...Hold Me
As I learn to stand;
With smiles and shivers of excitement;
Relying on your hand.
As I struggle with new wonderment;
Wobble, Wobble… hold me.
Totter, Totter...guard me.
With each brave step I take
while letting go of your hold;
It's your first of many a heartache.
As I learn to be more bold;
Totter, Totter… guard me.
Stumble, Stumble...catch me.
As I learn to find my freedom
and walking on my own;
You struggle with this transom.
As you see I have grown
Stumble, Stumble… catch me.
Father, Father...love me.
Your hand I was always needing
And you have always granted
Tenderly holding, guiding, catching
Your arms around me gently planted.
Father, Father… love me.
Always, Always...my child.
His answer to your plea..
Look within your heart.
And, the truth you'll see;
Always, Always… my child.
