REMINISCENCE: A POEM
REMINISCENCE: A POEM
... And finally it is here
The day I told you
You went after stones
While you had diamonds
The stones have turned on you
Like a cobra against its charmer
Your heart is shattered by his slaying words
False words that burn down the walls of the heart
You drank of his manliness
Now you spit out bitter saliva
Coated with strange odor
Your inside hurts as if on fire
He dashed it to you
A filthy gift from his many companions
Once I begged the sun to rise in your name
I even bribed the birds to hum you a song
Watching your beautiful face light-up in a graceful smile
I told the rivers to dance for your happiness
For love made me crazy
Your eyes were like a magic charm
It magneted my very heart
With each beating, I was lost in your arms
Those days are far far gone
The day my eyes shed a river
I knew my love was higher than kilimanjaro
Your words made me weak
But you left me like a total stranger
Down the path of love
All my affection, stripped
Like the veil of a worthless stripper
My heart died a million deaths
But lived on at the thought of you
You kicked my soul away like a cheap article
My breath you stole away
Washed me with the waters of pain
A lost sheep, I was
Gnashing my teeth in death's house
Remember I told you, 'this day shall come'
High above my worth soared
Even your mouth confess of my wonders
With knees bent you ask for another chance
Tears have made a mockery of your face
Promises decorate your sweet lips
And I look at your eyes
My guts are weak once again
Because I am still in love no more
What do I?...
