Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree, how magical and glorious you are,

Your boughs of green they all do shine, from the tinsel from afar.

Those coloured glittered balls look stunning, swinging all around,

And the Santa Snow that they sprayed on you, is sprinkled upon the ground.

The little bears that are hanging low, we got from dear old Pop,

And that Angel who's pretty and pure, is right upon the top.

When you have a closer look you can see the pretty crystal balls,

As they shine and spin around all day, they are quite a sight for all.

The logs are all lit up, and the flames rise higher and higher.

The embers lie there all a glow, in the warmth of the crackling fire

The presents are wrapped up, for the children who live here,

And when Christmas morning comes around you'll hear them scream and cheer.

There's Grandpa in his rocking chair, he really is a sight,

With his beady little eyes, and beard of snowy white.

He has a little trick on the children he likes to play,

He pretends that he's an elf, from the North Pole, far away.

He says that he and Santa create lots and lots of toys,

In Santa's special workshop, for all good girls and boys.

He tells them Santa has a list, that he checks once or twice,

And makes a note on his list, of whose naughty and whose nice.

Then they're put into his sack, after the job is done,

And Santa puts it on his sleigh, to make his Christmas run.

Look towards the sky tonight and you might be lucky to see,

Santa riding on his sleigh , with his sack full of presents just for you and me.

I'm so happy your husband found new work!

I really enjoyed this poem. It had that magical, wonderful feeling of Christmas. I don't think it's just children who would enjoy this poem. As I was reading it, I was thinking that I'd like to read it again on Christmas morn!

      Also, gorgeous photo!

      Thank you Dottie.

I was putting my tree up last night, Saturday and singing "Oh Christmas Tree etc as well, being a singer it's not hard to branch into singing, especially at Christmas Time, my favourite time for singing just love Christmas Carols. The company that does my care work, showering, help with dressing, etc, are having a Christmas Party for us (its clients)week. They have asked me to read this poem, because my carer, dobbed me in, as well as sing, which is something I love to do. Just to see a smile on the oldies, smiling when I start to sing we have a couple of husband and wife teams coming this time, and I am really looking forward to it. We thought it was going to be a very bad Christmas because my husband has been out of work for several months. However, joy, joy, joy, he just found out he has a new job starting on Tuesday. I am thrilled because now we don't have to worry about how we will pay the bills, at least for now anyway. If I don't get another chance to say this "I hope you Have a Happy and Safe Christmas". God Bless Dottie BB

Nice one for the kiddies. I have kids here who think I used to be an elf that worked for Santa. LOl I wrote them a story about it about four years ago and they still believe it. haha

They get all excited this time of year thinking Santa will come for me any day to help him and I wear my Elf hat as I putter around outside putting up my lights and stuff. Christmas is so much fun.
