Take The Given

Updated on March 22, 2011

Cold wet worn

and torn bandages

cover the floors

of intolerable

differences.

The anticipation is

detrimental and hangs

in the balance of

ill-handled questioning .

There the air is thick

and smothering and

smells of cheap

perfume‘s murmurings.

Why hang our self’s

over the edge and

yell out to the sky’s

ears deaf self.

Could this be the only

magical and damp

hand of fate resting

on your plate?

Inside us is color that is

ever changing one

could say it’s blinding but

binding to thy soul.

Your spoon of reasoning is

scraping their

mind’s resin

And blowing at

it’s pilot light.

I can only hold my breath

as you take off that dress

of shame and hang it on my

wagging finger‘s sanity.

Re-light mine

and we will burn inside as

we dine on our ever-lasting cry’s.

The box is open and waiting

for it’s moment ,

How will you shine?

lets swim through the

glass and stuff it into

our bag’s, Then we shall feast !

Give into the wretched

request for ever rapid thought,

And dive into her heart’s shallow side.

Divide the divine and wrap

us up in your lovely sigh

Then we will be taken back

by our mirrors time.

If not me I say it

That will

be the end of all concentration

that comes quick and without a

token of affliction.

The ounce of our hate has been

pinched by our fingers of

golden and silver’s sleep then

slithers silently beneath

The dirty and clean

give into you and bathe

in changing behaviors black streams.

Once a clever thought that

the many were just that

but now the dull know the rat

has hatched and now the many

are few and not between

They continue to be just that

the inner seam of doubt’s

last and first pretty dream.

I LOVE poems that have enjambment! I always thought that it was so cool to be "tricked" almost, by the poem, into thinking that the story ends with the last word of the line. Great job! :)

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure of the full message conveyed in this poem, perhaps I cannot fully comprehend it, or rather I need to go back and read this one at a later date.

However, nice use of vocabulary, nice flow.

      I especially enjoyed

      "Your spoon of reasoning is

      scraping their

      mind’s resin"

      AND

      "Why hang our self’s

      over the edge and

      yell out to the sky’s

      ears deaf self"

Awful Poet, you certain are not awful. I will be back to read more of your work.
